New Zealander of the Year Award

Peter Leslie was Chairman from founding of NZS Scotland in November 1998 until standing down in March 2004. His part in establishing NZS Scotland was recognised when he was awarded the prestigious 2005 "New Zealander of the Year UK" award. Sponsored by Air New Zealand, the award recognises individuals who have contributed positively to enhancing New Zealand's profile in the UK. Previous New Zealanders of the year include Doug MacKinnon, Michael Campbell, Mark Todd, and Peter Gordon.

Aberdeen Sub-group launch - Robert Gordon University

The Aberdeen sub-group was launched in the beautiful surrounds of Robert Gordon College during 2004. This school has one of the strongest links with New Zealand schools as for the past 60 years a boy has been appointed the 'Otaki Scholar' and has travelled out to New Zealand and visits many schools and provinces.
